Saints Alexander, Theodotus, Glykeria, Anna and Elizabeth the Martyrs

Saint Alexander was a bishop and he preached the Gospel with great zeal to the pagan crowds. His sermons attracted many pagans to the Christian faith.

This fact infuriated the ruler of the place. So he ordered the Saint to be arrested and subjected to torture, in order to force him to sacrifice to the idols. But he was not convinced.

A soldier named Heraklion, seeing Alexander's carter, believed in Christ. Heraklion was subjected to many tortures and was finally beheaded.

Saint Alexander, by the grace of God, was healed from the wounds of torture. He also performed a miracle, thus attracting to the faith of Christ four women, Theodotus, Glykeria, Anna and Elizabeth.

These women confessed their faith before the lord and were led for this under the executioner's sword.

After all, Saint Alexander was beheaded with a sword.
