Οι Όσιοι Ανδρόνικος και Αθανασία η συμβία του

 

Υπήρξαν    κατά    το    έτος   594    και    ήταν  σύζυγοι  ενάρετοι,  που  κατάγονταν από  την  Αντιόχεια  της Συρίας.  Ήταν  εύποροι  και    ζούσαν σύμφωνα    με   το    θέλημα    του    Θεού.

Ο  Ανδρόνικος  έκανε  το  επάγγελμα  του  αργυραμοιβού  στην    Αντιόχεια και  απόκτησε    από    τον   γάμο   αυτό   δύο παιδιά,  που   όμως   πέθαναν.  Αυτό κατέθλιβε  τους   δύο  γονείς  και  για  να  βρουν  παρηγοριά  κατέφυγαν   για    προσκύνημα   στους   Αγίους   Τόπους.

Από  εκεί   πήγαν   στην Αίγυπτο, όπου με κοινή  απόφαση    έγιναν   μοναχοί και    μπήκαν   σε   μοναστήρι.   Ο  μεν  Ανδρόνικος πήγε στη  Μονή    του    αββά Δανιήλ, η  δε γυναίκα του Αθανασία στην γυναικεία Μονή   των   Ταβεννησιωτών.           
Εκεί, αφού  ασκητικά  πέρασαν το υπόλοιπο   της   ζωής   τους,   απεβίωσαν ειρηνικά.

Σωφροσύνης    την    χλαίναν    την    θεούφαντον,   κατεποικίλα   τε   χρόαις    των ιερών    αρετών,    ομοφρόνως    εν    σπουδή    άμφω   ασκήσαντες·    όθεν     υμών την    σιωπήν,    η    τρισάγιος    ωδή,   εδέξατο    εν   υψίστοις,    Ανδρόνικε    συν     τη θεία,    Αθανασίᾳ   τη   θεόφρονι.

Ως    της   νομίμου   συζυγίας   υποτύπωσιν

Και    της   ενθέου   πολιτείας  ακροθίνια

Τον   οσίως   διαπρέψαντα   Ανδρόνικον,

Συν   αυτώ   Αθανασίαν   την   ομόζυγον,       
Τούτοις   λέγοντες,  χαίροις   ζεύγος  πανόσιον.

Ανδρείως  η   σύμβιος   ξυνωρίς,  συν   Αθανασίᾳ,   ο   Ανδρόνικος   ο  στερρός, της αθανασίας, ανύσαντες την τρίβον, της αθανάτου δόξης, κατηξιώθησαν.

 

The Saints Andronikos and Athanasia his symbiosis

 

 

They existed in the year 594 and were a virtuous couple, who came from Antioch in Syria. They were wealthy and lived according to God's will.

Andronikos worked as a moneylender in Antioch and had two children from this marriage, but they died. This depressed the two parents and to find solace they fled for a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

From there they went to Egypt, where by mutual decision they became monks and entered a monastery. Andronikos went to Abba Daniel's Monastery, while his wife Athanasia went to the women's Monastery of Tavennisiotes.

There, after spending the rest of their lives as an ascetic, they passed away peacefully.
