Μνήμη Ζ’ Οικουμενικής Συνόδου

 

Αυτή   έγινε   στη   Νίκαια   το   787,   επί    βασιλέως   Κωνσταντίνου   και Ειρήνης,  της   μητέρας   του,   και   επί   Αδριανού   Πάπα   Ρώμης, Ταρασίου   Κωνσταντινουπόλεως,   Πολιτιανού Αλεξανδρείας, Θεοδωρήτου   Αντιοχείας   και   Ηλία   Ιεροσολύμων.

Συνολικά   οι   Πατέρες   που   έλαβαν    μέρος   στη  Σύνοδο   αυτή     ήταν 365    και   αναθεμάτισαν   την    αίρεση   των    εικονομάχων.   Διατύπωσαν,  ότι   η  τιμή    και   η   προσκύνηση   της   Εικόνας   διαβαίνει στο   πρωτότυπο   (δηλαδή   στον   εικονιζόμενο   Άγιο)   και   όχι   στα   καθ’   αυτό   ξύλο   και   χρώμα   της   εικόνας.          
Η   μνήμη   της   Ζ’   Οικουμενικής   Συνόδου   τιμάται   την   πρώτη Κυριακή   μετά   την   11^η   Οκτωβρίου.

Απολυτίκιον.  Ήχος   α’.  Της   ερήμου   πολίτης.

Της Εβδόμης Συνόδου τους Πατέρας υμνήσωμεν, ως της Εκκλησίας φωστήρας   και   θερμούς  αντιλήπτορας·  Εικόνα   γαρ   την   θείαν   του Χριστού,   εκήρυξαν   τιμάσθαι   ευσεβώς,  καθελόντες   των   αιρέσεων την   οφρύν,   και  προς   αυτούς   βοήσωμεν·  Δόξα   τω    ενισχύσαντι υμάς,   δόξα   τω   στεφανώσαντι,   δόξα    τω    βεβαιούντι    δι’ υμών, πίστιν   την   Ορθόδοξον.

 

Έτερον    Απολυτίκιον.  Ήχος   πλ. δ’.

Υπερδεδοξασμένος   εί   Χριστέ   ο   Θεός   ημών,   ο   φωστήρας  επί   γης, τους   Πατέρας   ημών   θεμελιώσας,   και   δι’ αυτών,   προς   την   αληθινήν    πίστιν   πάντας   ημάς    οδηγήσας·   Πολυεύσπλαγχνε   δόξα σοι.

 

Έτερον   Απολυτίκιον.   Ήχος    δ’. Ταχύ    προκατάλαβε.
Ταις    θείαις    του    Πνεύματος,   και   επταρίθμοις   αυγαίς,    Πατέρες    οι    ένθεοι,   καταυγασθέντες   τον   νουν,   Εβδόμην   συνέλευσιν, ήθροισαν    εκ   περάτων,   εν   Νικαία   τη    πόλει,   ιδρύσαντες θεοφρόνως,   τας   πανσέπτους    Εικόνας.   Αυτών   μετ’ ευφροσύνης,   τη μνήμη   άσωμεν.

Εκ   Πατρός   εκλάμψας,   Υιός   αρρήτως,   εκ   γυναικός   ετέχθη   διπλούς τη    φύσει·   Όν   ειδότες   ουκ   αρνούμεθα,   της   μορφής   το   εκτύπωμα· αυτό   δε   ευσεβώς   ανιστορούντες,    σέβομεν   πιστώς·   και    δια    τούτο, την   αληθινήν   πίστιν   κρατούσα,   η   Εκκλησία   ασπάζεται,   την   εικόνα   της    Χριστού   ενανθρωπήσεως.

Μεγαλυνάριον.

Τους θείους Πατέρας τους την σεπτήν, Σύνοδον Εβδόμην, συγκροτήσαντας  ιερώς,   και   τετιμηκότας,   Εικόνας    τας    αγίας, ασμάτων   συμφωνία,   ανευφημήσωμεν.

 

Έτερον   Μεγαλυνάριον.
Επί   το   πρωτότυπον   η   τιμή,   των    σεπτών   Εικόνων   διαβαίνει   ως αληθώς,   ώσπερ  οι Πατέρες, Συνόδου της Εβδόμης, ετράνωσαν πανσόφως·   ούς   μεγαλύνωμεν.

 

Commemoration of the Seventh Ecumenical Synod

 

 

 

This took place in Nicaea in 787, during the reign of Constantine and Irene, his mother, and during Hadrian, Pope of Rome, Tarasius of Constantinople, Politianus of Alexandria, Theodoret of Antioch and Elias of Jerusalem.

In total, the Fathers who took part in this Synod were 365 and anathematized the heresy of iconoclasts. They stated that the honor and worship of the Icon goes to the original (that is, to the depicted Saint) and not to the wood and color of the icon as such.

The memory of the Seventh Ecumenical Synod is commemorated on the first Sunday after October 11.

The goddesses of the Spirit, and sevenfold mornings, the godly Fathers, enlightened in mind, assembled in Ebdomin, celebrated from the end, in the city of Nicaea, establishing theophronos, the pansepts of the Icon. With cheerfulness, let's forget the memory.

Let us cheer their divine Fathers on the seventh day, Synod on Seventh Day, consecrating sacredly, and tetimikotas, Ikonos tas agias, smata symphony.
