Του Αγίου Πνεύματος

 

«....Και   εις   το   πνεύμα   το    άγιον,    το    κύριον    και    ζωοποιόν,    το  εκ   του πατρός εκπορευόμενον, το  συν  πατρί και  υιώ   συμπροσκυνούμενον και   συνδοξαζόμενον,  το  λαλήσαν  δια των  προφητών....»

 

Την  Δευτέρα   μετά   την   Πεντηκοστή,   η   Εκκλησία   μας   εορτάζει   το  Άγιο   Πνεύμα.  Το   Άγιο  Πνεύμα   είναι    το    τρίτο   πρόσωπο   της  Αγίας  Τριάδος, το  οποίο   εκπορεύεται    εκ    του    Πατρός.  Είναι  ομοούσιο  με  τα  πρόσωπα του  Πατρός και  του  Υιού   και   κατά   το Σύμβολο της   Πίστεως    «συνπροσκυνείται    και   συνδοξάζεται»    με    τον Πατέρα     και     με    τον   Υιό,    ίσο    κατά    τη    λατρεία    και    την   τιμή.

 

Τα   χαρίσματα    του    Αγίου   Πνεύματος

 

Μεγάλα  είναι  και  ξεπερνούν  την  ανθρώπινη    λογική   τα   χαρίσματα  που   μας   δώρισε   σήμερα   ο    φιλάνθρωπος     Θεός.  Γι’ αυτό   άς  χαρούμε  όλοι  μαζί   και    σκιρτώντας    από    αγαλλίαση   άς   ανυμνήσουμε  τον   Κύριό   μας.    Γιατί    η   σημερινή  ημέρα  είναι  για  μας  εορτή   και  πανηγύρι.  Όπως    δηλαδή    διαδέχονται   η   μια   την άλλη   οι    εποχές   και    οι    κινήσεις    του    ήλιου,   έτσι    ακριβώς    και  στην   Εκκλησία  η  μία  εορτή   διαδέχεται   την   άλλη   και    με   τον τρόπο   αυτό   από    την  μια  πηγαίνουμε  στην   άλλη.   Πριν  από   λίγο καιρό   εορτάσαμε   τον   σταυρό, το  πάθος και  την  Ανάσταση, και  ύστερα   από   αυτά   την  Ανάληψη   του   Κυρίου  μας  Ιησού   Χριστού  στους  ουρανούς.   Σήμερα   φθάσαμε  στην  κορυφή   των  αγαθών,  σ’ αυτήν  την   κορωνίδα των εορτών, βρισκόμαστε πια στην πραγματοποίηση    των  επαγγελιών του Κυρίου. «Γιατί  αν  φύγω», λέει,  «θα  σας στείλω  άλλον Παράκλητο,  και   δεν   θα    σας   αφήσω ορφανούς».   (Ιωάν. ιστ’, 6).    Βλέπετε   το  πατρικό   Του   ενδιαφέρον;  Βλέπετε    την ανέκφραστη φιλανθρωπία Του; Πριν λίγες ημέρες  ανελήφθη   στον    ουρανό,   κάθισε    στον   βασιλικό   θρόνο,    στα    δεξιά του   Πατρός,    και    σήμερα   μας   στέλνει    ως   δώρο   τα   χαρίσματα του  Αγίου   Πνεύματος   και    με   αυτόν    τον   τρόπο   μας   χορηγεί  άπειρα   ουράνια  αγαθά.  Γιατί,  πες  μου,  ποιο   από   τα   αγαθά   που  συμβάλλουν   στη    σωτηρία    μας   δεν   μας  δόθηκε  από  το  Άγιο  Πνεύμα;

 

Με  την χάρη Του απαλλασσόμαστε από  τη δουλεία του διαβόλου, καλούμαστε  στην  ελευθερία  του   Χριστού,   οδηγούμαστε    στην ουράνια   υιοθεσία,  αναγεννιόμαστε  από  την αρχή  και  ξεφορτωνόμαστε  το   βαρὺ   και  δυσβάστακτο   φορτίο   των   αμαρτιών μας.  Με   την   χάρη   του   Αγίου   Πνεύματος   βλέπουμε   να   υπάρχουν τόσοι   ιερείς   και   έχουμε   τάγματα   διδασκάλων    της    Εκκλησίας.   Από    την  πηγή   αυτή   πήγασαν   πλούτη   προφητειών   και   χαρίσματα ιάσεων   και   όλα   τα   άλλα   που   συνήθως   στολίζουν    την    Εκκλησία  του    Θεού    από   το   Άγιο  Πνεύμα  προέρχονται.  Και   φωνάζει  ο  Παύλος  και  λέει:    «Για  όλα  αυτά  τα  χαρίσματα  ενεργεί το ένα   και  μοναδικό  Πνεύμα, που τα μοιράζει όπως θέλει στον καθένα χωριστά»  (Α’Κορ. ιβ’, 11).

 

«Όπως θέλει», λέει, όχι όπως έχει διαταχθεί. «Μοιράζει», και δεν μοιράζεται.  Έχει   εξουσία,   και    δεν    εξουσιάζεται.   Γιατί    ο    Παύλος λέει    πως   έχει    και    το    Άγιο    Πνεύμα  την  ίδια   εξουσία  που    έχει  και   ο    Πατήρ.    Και   όπως    είπε  για   τον   Πατέρα  «ο  Θεός  είναι  εκείνος  που   ενεργεί  παντού    και    πάντα» (Α’ Κορ. ιβ’, 6),  έτσι   λέει  και  για   το   Άγιο   Πνεύμα   «για    όλα   αυτά    τα    χαρίσματα    ενεργεί  το  ένα  και  μοναδικό  Πνεύμα,  που  τα  μοιράζει   όπως    θέλει  στον καθένα   χωριστά».  Είδες   τέλεια   εξουσία    που  έχει;  Γιατί   όσα πρόσωπα  έχουν  την  ίδια   φύση   και    ουσία    είναι    φανερό   ότι    έχουν   και  την   ίδια  εξουσία,   και   όσα   έχουν   την   ίδια   αξία,   σ’ αυτά μία    είναι    η     δύναμη    και    η    εξουσία.

 

Χάρη  στη  δύναμη του  Αγίου Πνεύματος απαλλαχτήκαμε από  τις αμαρτίες,  με  αυτήν  ξεπλύναμε  την   ψυχή   μας   από   κάθε  ρύπο.   Με  τη δωρεά  του  Αγίου Πνεύματος, ενώ  ήμασταν  άνθρωποι, γίναμε άγγελοι,    όσοι   βέβαια   θελήσαμε   να    μας   βοηθήσει    η    χάρη   Του,  χωρίς  να  αλλάξει  η  φύση μας,  αλλά  και  αυτό  είναι  το  πιο  αξιοθαύμαστο,  διατηρήσαμε   την    ανθρώπινη   φύση   μας    και   με  αυτή  επιδείξαμε αγγελική    συμπεριφορά.   Τόσο     μεγάλη   είναι    λοιπόν    η   δύναμη  του  Αγίου  Πνεύματος!   Και  όπως  η   πραγματική φωτιά  όταν  δεχτεί  τον μαλακό  πηλό  τον   καθιστά    σκληρό    κεραμίδι,  έτσι   ακριβώς   και    η   φωτιά  του   Αγίου   Πνεύματος,   όταν    δεχτεί  μία   ψυχή   συνετή,   ακόμη   και   αν    τη    βρει    πιο  μαλακή  και  απ’ τον   πηλό,  την   κάνει   πιο   γερή   και    απ’ το   σίδερο.  Και   κάνει ξαφνικά  πιο καθαρό  απ’ τον ήλιο εκείνον που έως τώρα ήταν μολυσμένος   απ’  την   ακαθαρσία   των    αμαρτιών.[...]

 

«Με   τη   δύναμη   του    ονόματος   του    Κυρίου    Ιησού    Χριστού», λέει,   «και  με  τη  χάρη   του   Πνεύματος   του    Θεού    μας».   Είδες,    αγαπητέ,  τη   δύναμη   του   Αγίου    Πνεύματος;   Είδες   ότι   το  Άγιο   Πνεύμα, εξαφάνισε όλες αυτές τις κακίες, και  ότι εκείνους που  ήταν προηγουμένως   υποδουλωμένοι   στις    αμαρτίες   τους,    τους    ανέβασε  ξαφνικά    σε   τόσο    υψηλές   τιμές;

Of the Holy Spirit

 

 

"... And in the spirit of the saint, the lord, and the zoo, the father coming forth, the father together, and the son together and being baptized, they did cry out among the prophets ..."

 

On Monday after Pentecost, our Church celebrates the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity, emanating from the Father. It is identical with the faces of the Father and the Son, and according to the Symbol of Faith, it is "joined together" with the Father and the Son, equal in worship and honor.

 

The gifts of the Holy Spirit

 

The gifts that the philanthropist God has given us today are great and transcend human reason. So let us all rejoice together, and, out of jubilation, let us commemorate our Lord. Because today is a celebration and a festival for us. That is, as the seasons and movements of the sun follow one another, so in the Church one feast succeeds the other, and so we go from one to the other. Some time ago we celebrated the Cross, the Passion, and the Resurrection, and after them the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ in the heavens. Today we have reached the summit of goods, in this crest of the holidays, we are now in the fulfillment of the Lord's occupations. "For if I go away," he says, "I will send you another Deliverer, and I will not leave you orphans." (John Ist, 6). Do you see His parental interest? Do you see His unspeakable charity? A few days ago he ascended to heaven, sat on the royal throne, on the right of the Father, and today sends us the gifts of the Holy Ghost as a gift and thus gives us infinite heavenly goods. Why, tell me, which of the goods that contribute to our salvation have not been given to us by the Holy Spirit?

 

By His grace we are freed from the work of the devil, called to the freedom of Christ, led to heavenly adoption, reborn from the beginning, and unloaded from the heavy and unbearable burden of our sins. By the grace of the Holy Spirit we see that there are so many priests and we have orders of Church teachers. From this source came a wealth of prophecy and healing gifts, and everything else that usually adorns the Church of God from the Holy Spirit comes from. And Paul shouts and says, "For all these gifts the one and only Spirit acts, who distributes them as he wishes to each one individually" (1 Cor. 11).

 

"As he wants," he says, not as ordered. "Shares", and doesn't share. It has power, and it does not. Because Paul says that the Holy Spirit has the same power that the Father has. And as he said of the Father, "God is he that worketh always and ever" (1 Cor. 6: 6), so he says of the Holy Spirit "for all these gifts the one and only Spirit works, distributes as he wants to each one individually. " Did you see perfect power? For as many persons as have the same nature and substance, it is evident that they have the same power, and those which have the same value, one of them is power and authority.

Thanks to the power of the Holy Spirit we were freed from sins, with which we washed our souls of all pollutants. With the gift of the Holy Ghost, while we were human, we became angels, who of course we wanted His grace to help us without changing our nature, but this is the most remarkable, we maintained our human nature and with it we displayed angelic behavior . So great is the power of the Holy Spirit! And just as the real fire when it receives the soft clay makes it a hard tile, just as the fire of the Holy Spirit, when it receives a prudent soul, even if it finds it softer and more clay-free, it makes it firmer and stronger. the iron. And it makes it suddenly clearer than the sun that was hitherto contaminated by the impurity of sins. [...]

 

"By the power of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ," he says, "and by the grace of the Spirit of our God." Did you see, dear, the power of the Holy Spirit? Did you see that the Holy Spirit had eliminated all these evils, and that those who were previously enslaved to their sins suddenly raised them to such high prices?
