Οι Άγιοι Ιωάννης και Ιάκωβος οι Ιερομάρτυρες

 

Ο   Άγιος   Ιωάννης    ήταν    Επίσκοπος  και  ο  Άγιος   Ιάκωβος Πρεσβύτερος.

Οι   Ιερομάρτυρες   αυτοί   έζησαν   στα   χρόνια   του   βασιλιά   των Περσών  Σαβωρίου  (332)  και   δίδασκαν   στους   ευσεβείς   τον   λόγο   της αληθινής   πίστης   και   πολλούς   κατόρθωναν   να   προσελκύουν   σ’ αυτήν.
Οπότε   συνελήφθηκαν   από   τον   Σαβώριο   και   αφού   πρώτα υποβλήθηκαν   σε   σκληρά   βασανιστήρια,   στο  τέλος  τους αποκεφάλισαν   και   έτσι   πήραν    το   αμάραντο   στεφάνι   του μαρτυρίου.

 

Saints John and James the Hieromartyrs

Saint John was Bishop and Saint James was Elder.

These Hieromartyrs lived in the years of the Persian king Savorius (332) and taught the pious the word of the true faith and many managed to attract it.

So they were arrested by Savorios and after first being subjected to severe torture, in the end they were beheaded and thus took the amaranth crown of martyrdom.
