Ο Όσιος Ιλαρίων ο Ίβηρ, ο εν Θεσσαλονίκη

 

Έζησε   τον    9^ο   αιώνα.    Έπαιξε   σπουδαίο    ρόλο   στη   θρησκευτική   ζωή   του τόπου    του   (Γεωργία).

Ταξίδευσε    στους    Αγίους   Τόπους,   στην   Κωνσταντινούπολη   και   στην Βιθυνία,    όπου    γνωρίστηκε    με   άλλους   πνευματικούς   πατέρες.

Κατόπιν    ταξίδευσε    στη    Ρώμη    δια   Θεσσαλονίκης,    όπου    έκανε   θαύματα.    Επανερχόμενος   έμεινε   στη     Θεσσαλονίκη,    όπου    έκτισε    και    ιερό   ναό    το    870. 
Το    έργο    του,   που     ήταν    κυρίως    διδακτικό,    υπήρξε    εξαιρετικά   για   τους Θεσσαλονικείς.   Πέθανε   το   875.

 

Saint Hilarion the Iberian, the one in Thessaloniki

 

 

He lived in the 9th century. He played an important role in the religious life of his place (Georgia).

He traveled to the Holy Land, Constantinople and Bithynia, where he met other spiritual fathers.

Then he traveled to Rome via Thessaloniki, where he performed miracles. Returning, he stayed in Thessaloniki, where he built a sanctuary in 870.

His work, which was mainly didactic, was exceptional for the Thessalonians. He died in 875.
